When New Hope-Solebury schools are closed for an emergency virtual learning day, instruction will be delivered either asynchronously or synchronously. 

Asynchronous days will generally be used for the first day of an emergency closure or if necessary due to the potential for wide-ranging power outages.  On asynchronous virtual learning days students can work at their own pace and are not expected to log into Zoom lessons during the school day.

If consecutive days of closure are warranted, we will likely transition to synchronous virtual learning days. On a synchronous day, students will be logging in to Zoom at specific times following a schedule that is detailed by building below.

The mode of virtual learning will be determined based on the specific circumstances and will be communicated by the District in advance of a closure.

On asynchronous days, students should log into Canvas to access their learning. Attendance will be based on assignment completion.

CANVAS

Access Canvas one of the following ways:

• via your child’s Classlink OR

• directly at Canvas URL

Canvas Credentials:

Username: lastnamefirstname@nhsdlions.org 

Password: Same district password students utilize to log into their school device

Teachers will have content published on Canvas by 9:00AM at the latest. 

Students will have up to one week to complete lessons and/or assignments at teacher discretion. We strive to provide a reasonable timeframe for work completion as there may be factors outside of the student’s control in a virtual environment.

On synchronous days, students should log into Canvas to access their learning AND also join ZOOM to meet with their teachers. Attendance will be taken at the start of each day. Specific times are noted in the building schedules below. We are encouraging our students who may require additional academic support to meet with their teacher during office hours (noted below).

Zoom links will be posted in Canvas. Students should click on the Zoom links to join their teachers. You do not need to log into Zoom to join a call.
