Dr. Erik Pedersen is the proud principal of New Hope-Solebury Middle School. Dr. Pedersen brings to our community a rich background in educational leadership, particularly in the realms of curriculum development, STEAM education, and school-wide initiatives aimed at enhancing the educational experience for every student.
Partnering with his colleagues at New Hope-Solebury School District, Dr. Pedersen helps to lead transformative changes in its approach to education, ensuring that our students are prepared for the challenges and opportunities of the future. Notable achievements in his tenure have been the significant reshaping of our district curriculum to focus on STEAM education, MTSS processes, and college and career pathways at the secondary level. These initiatives ensure that students are not only academically prepared but are also equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary for success beyond the classroom.
Dr. Pedersen played a pivotal role as a core team member in the introduction of the new block scheduling and Lunch and Learn model at the high school. This innovative approach required extensive logistical planning in scheduling, coordination of shared staffing across departments, and a strategic realignment of the school day to optimize learning outcomes. His efforts have significantly influenced the middle school curriculum by providing students with a smoother transition to the expectations and rigors of high school.
Another hallmark of Dr. Pedersen's leadership is the successful implementation of the "Schools To Watch" initiative. This program has been instrumental in spotlighting the outstanding work being done at New Hope-Solebury Middle School, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. It is through initiatives like these that our school has solidified its reputation as a leading institution for middle-level education.
In addition to these achievements, Dr. Pedersen has contributed significantly to the arts and music education in our district. As a member of the Music and Arts panel, he has been instrumental in rethinking and reshaping our K-12 programming, ensuring that arts education remains a cornerstone of our students' educational journey.
Dr. Pedersen completed his Doctoral Program in Organizational Leadership and Management at Drexel University, where he also received his Superintendent Letter of Eligibility. He is excited to continue his work at New Hope-Solebury Middle School, serving our students, staff, and families.
